About Me
Hi! I'm Chloe.
I grew up in Southwest Virginia, where I developed a deep passion for politics and storytelling. My love for musical theatre introduced me to the transformative power of narrative—how it can make sense of a chaotic, ever-changing world and help people connect across difference.
At 15, I co-founded a youth political alliance in Roanoke, Virginia, grounded in civic engagement and multiculturalism. Through storytelling and journalism, we encouraged young people to lean into personal histories vastly different from their own, practicing what is more vital now than ever: political empathy.
This commitment to politics and storytelling led me to the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where I immersed myself in student journalism, debate, and political life on campus. Throughout my collegiate career, I was interviewed by international news outlets such as CNN and Good Morning America for various political segments. In May, I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English, along with minors in Hispanic Studies and Political Science. I also completed an Honors thesis in the English major, a creative novella centered on memory and environment, all while taking rigorous and inspiring courses that helped me examine pressing social issues both at Penn and in the broader Philadelphia community.
Alongside my work in nonfiction, I also have a deep love for fiction writing and comics. This passion for literature and art is closely tied to Buenos Aires, Argentina—a city that holds a special place in my heart. I lived there for nearly eight months between 2023 and 2024, where I discovered my love for the Spanish language (and for dulce de leche, coffee, and Argentinian culture, too!). While in Argentina, I also embraced a new sphere of writing– travel writing.
Outside of politics and writing, I’m a big sports fan. I love writing about tennis, and thanks to a wonderful professor at Penn, I’ve also become a devoted baseball—and baseball history—enthusiast. I enjoy playing tennis, playing pickleball, and cycling.
You can find my work on MyTennisLessons (writing about tennis for new and advanced players), Global Philadelphia, IW Features (a project of Independent Women's Forum), and in various news publications. Soon, you can find my political writing housed on informed.org –– a site dedicated to unbiased, independent news coverage.
A bit about
I hope my portfolio reflects what I believe to be the most vital force in the world: connecting with people different from yourself and embracing their full humanity.
P.S. – This is my little dachshund, Roger!
